Rodney de Vries

Rodney de Vries is a St John’s artist and violinmaker who completed a degree at Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Ontario and Florence, Italy.  His degree revolved around fine art media, experimental art and printmaking.  

After working in two and three-dimensional design and fabrication,

he pursued an apprenticeship in instrument making and restoration of the violin family of bowed instruments.

 

To date Rodney pursues violinmaking and painting concurrently, often by commission.
