Alison Rideout

ARTIST BIO

Involved in the art community since 2004, Alison is a self-taught artist whose work is continuously evolving. Initially her focus was concentrated in photography, but by 2009 she made the shift to oil and acrylic. Alison’s work often embodies a childlike and playful quality and her style is a blend of surrealism, expressionism, abstract and pop art. Her surrealist-inspired paintings transport the viewer into a dream-like vista, capturing peaceful emotional states that are bathed in turquoise and ultramarine. Alison’s pop art explores cultural trends and ideals and often has a more reflective undertone. Some work, done in oil and ink, reflect the concept of society and its relationship with nature and technology; a synergistic relationship that is increasingly more cyclically co-influenced and co-dependent of each another. Her newest 'Warrior Series' speaks to the strength within all of us.
